Your Zubie smoke detection device is equipped with GSP location technology. You can see the vehicle’s last known location in two easy to access places within the Zubie app:
Live Map
If the only Zubie device installed in the vehicle is your smoke detection device, you can expect the Zubie Live Map to be updated within a minute of sensing the vehicle is in motion, and each time a smoking event takes place.
You can view the timestamp for the last known location on the vehicle card in the Live Map as well as on the Vehicle Overview.
Trips
Your Zubie Smoke Detection device identies trips based on the vehicle motion.
A "trip start" is logged after 5 minutes of motion detected.
"Trip end" is logged after 5 continuous minutes of stillness, after motion was previously detected.
When the vehicle is in motion, Zubie will get a location update every 5 seconds, and the vehicle location will be updated in the Live Map and Trip Map every 1 minute.
Other Benefits of Location Tracking from Zubie Smoke Detection Devices
Along with the live map and trips, location data allows us to flag certain activity that may be helpful. Zubie Smoke Detection devices can identify:
Geofence entry or exit
Driving faster than the max speed threshold for your account
Speed limit violations
If you've set up the starting odometer with the vehicle information, you will also see calculated odometer for vehicles that have Smoke Detection Devices installed.
Please note: If your vehicle has a smoke detection device in addition to either Zubie Direct Connect or a Zubie OBD-II telematics device, the location for the vehicle will be updated more frequently.
