When your vehicle's location changes without logging a trip, that vehicle might have been towed. Zubie makes it easy to receive tow alerts using our Tow Alert report, which can be automatically emailed when possible tow activity is detected.
What does Zubie consider a Possible Tow?
Zubie devices detect when your vehicle's ignition turns on, which we call a "trip start" and when the ignition turns off ("trip end"). If a vehicle's location changes after a "trip end" and before the next "trip start," this indicates that the vehicle was likely moved while the ignition was turned off, and it's likely the vehicle has been towed.
Our Towed Vehicles report reflects possible tow activity that has taken place within the last hour.
How to set up Tow Alerts:
Go to Reports in your Zubie app.
Click on the Exceptions folder, and then select the Towed Vehicles report from the list.
Once you are in the report, you can set up the report to be emailed to you when possible tow activity takes place.
Click on the share icon in the upper right corner of the report.
Then select Subscriptions.
Enter your email address, select Hourly frequency, and check the "don't send if there aren't results" option. This report will look each hour to identify possible tow activity, and you will only receive an email if tow activity is detected.
Then click save schedule.
