How frequently can I see updates for my asset that has a wired Asset Trak device?
Zubie’s wired Asset Trak devices come configured to “ping” (send data to Zubie) every 15 seconds when motion is detected, or every 4 hours when the device is not moving.
If you would like to change this frequency, please contact Zubie customer support.
What should I do if the device position isn’t updating on my Zubie app?
There are a couple of things that can cause your Zubie wired Asset Trak to stop updating your live map. Here are a few examples and how to resolve them.
If the device is in an area with poor cell coverage, the “ping” cannot reach Zubie. Take the asset or vehicle somewhere with strong cell service and a clear view of the sky. It will reconnect and transmit once the device returns to solid cell service.
Similarly, the device cannot update when it does not receive a GPS signal - for example in a garage or warehouse. Take the asset or vehicle somewhere with strong cell service and a clear view of the sky. This should cause the device to reconnect to your Zubie app.
If this doesn’t work, please reach out to Zubie support for assistance.
How do I create the vehicle or asset for my wired asset trak device?
Unlike Zubie’s OBD devices, Asset Trak devices do not automatically detect a vehicle’s VIN. You’ll need to manually create a new vehicle or asset in the Zubie app, then pair it with your device.
Here’s how to do that:
Log into the Zubie mobile app (recommended) or visit app.zubie.com on your browser.
Tap the QR scan icon in the top navigation bar or within the Connect Device screen.
Scan the QR code on your Asset Trak device.
The app now automatically detects the QR type (device, vehicle, or check-in) and launches the correct setup flow.
When prompted, tap the + button to create a new asset or vehicle, then click Create & Connect.
If applicable, scan or enter the VIN for the vehicle. The app will validate the VIN format before proceeding to ensure accuracy.
