What do the OBD device LED lights mean?

  • The device plugs into the OBD port of the vehicle normally located underneath the steering wheel.

  • Once you plug in the device you will notice lights come on

What each light means:

Status

LED

Blink pattern

Boot loader

Green, Blue, Amber

Green > Blue > Amber, 100ms each, repeating cycle until the bootloader is complete.

Application Start

Blue

Blue LED will light for 1 minute

Failed Vehicle Communication

Amber

After Alternator On, if the vehicle communications fail 2 times, the Amber LED will light for 1 minute

Successful Vehicle Communication

Blue

After vehicle communications are established and ignition is detected, the Blue LED will light for 1 minute.
Note: The Amber LED will remain lit for the remainder of its timer if it was already lit.

Ignition Off

Blue

Amber

If the device successfully sent data to AWS at least once the Blue LED will light for one minute.


If the device did not successfully send data to AWS at the Amber LED will light for one minute.
